The internationally acclaimed actress Marlene Dietrich was a role model to many women, and known for being a perfectionist and a unique character. In her letters in 1958 to designer Jean Louis she dreamed about a dress, which should glow and be interactive. With the technical possibilities of 1958, her vision of an electrified glowing dress remained a dream.
With 2017 marking Marlene Dietrich’s 25th year of death, ARTE commissioned the Berlin Fashion Tech Studio ElektroCouture to honor her with the dress of her dreams for the documentary “Marlenes letztes Kleid”.
Utilizing Forster Rohner Textile Innovation’s e-broidery® technology and combining it with custom made Swarovski crystals, Marlene’s Last Dress is truly a dream come true.
